AS Mustang Project
This one isn't a from scratch build. This one was a pretty fair running AS prepped 94 Mustang. Dr. John Ricker purchased the car last season and ran it for a few events. He made a good buy on the car, but there were a few things that needed attention. Overheating issues, some pretty shabby wiring and plumbing problems hurt the cars reliability and performance. In his last session of the season, the engine spun a bearing and grenaded the internals. So John decided it was best to start back from the beginning. Plans are to build a new engine, redo the plumbing, electrical, brakes and a few other things.
When he bought the car originally he had us do a chassis dyno run on it. So here is what we started with.
About 285 HP at the rear wheels.
Plans for the car are:
New Block up SR Engine
Tremac 550 Trans
Detroit Truer Diff
New Auto Meter Gauges with Tach and Shift lamp
Some Roll cage changes
All new wiring
New Stainless plumbing and fittings
New Oil and P.S. Cooler
Headers Jet Hotted
Plus a few other things...
Take a look at the Rear wheel HP now.
It peaks at about 332HP at 6000+ RPM. Rev-limited at 6400 until we get the engine worn in.
